If you grew up learning to put your needs aside, we’re inviting you to make space for your own experience.

well-sibling support group

  • A supportive, therapist-led space for honest conversation and reflection.
  • Opportunities to share experiences, learn from others, and feel less alone.
  • Practical tools and insights to help you navigate family dynamics, boundaries, relationships, and your own emotional needs.

Growing up alongside a sibling with significant needs can shape the way you move through relationships, family, and the world. You may have learned to be independent, responsible, low-maintenance, or attuned to everyone else’s needs -- sometimes without realizing how much you were carrying, too.

This group offers a space to slow down and explore the parts of your experience that may have been overlooked, minimized, or difficult to put into words.

It's designed for adults who want to better understand how their experiences growing up have shaped them -- and to connect with others who truly get it.

Registration is now open for our Well Sibling Support Group.

Are you used to being the "easy child," the responsible one, or the one who didn't need much?

Being the “well” sibling can come with a complicated mix of love, loyalty, responsibility, resentment, guilt, grief, and even relief. Growing up alongside a sibling with significant needs can teach you to prioritize others, anticipate what people need, avoid adding stress, or become highly self-sufficient. These adaptations may have helped you navigate your family growing up, but they can sometimes follow you into adulthood.

You can love your family and still make space for what you experienced.

  • This is an ongoing support group held in-person at our Flatiron office on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM.

  • Group sessions are $80/session and eligible for insurance reimbursement.

  • This group is designed for adults who identify with the well-sibling or “glass child” experience. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis or a particular therapeutic history to participate.

  • Facilitated by Sara Housley, LMHC-D
